Cuoio di Toscana took part in the smart event A NEW POINT OF VIEW by Lineapelle with a special live performance where the green raw material par excellence met the technology and innovation of Dyloan
Craftsmanship meets technology. The green raw material par excellence is enriched by innovation. Cuoio di Toscana took part in the smart event A NEW POINT OF VIEW by Lineapelle, which was staged on 22 and 23 September 2020, at Fieramilano Rho.
The leading consortium in the creation of sole leather, with a market shares equal to 98% of the Italian market and over 80% of the European one, was the star of a special live performance, in collaboration with the technology research and design company Dyloan, which was part of the most important event for the high quality Made in Italy leather sector.
At the centre of the happening, also broadcast in streaming, a raw material par excellence, which has an eternal lifespan and precisely because of that is perfectly suited to experimentation and innovation. The leather worked by the Consortium, the spokesman for one of the leading tanning districts, is by vocation a natural, plastic-free material, which respects the land and has a green soul, chosen by the principal international luxury brands for their creations.
Furthermore, Cuoio di Toscana’s products fully embrace the concept of the circular economy, given that the processed leather is a waste product from the food industry, so in this way it is not only enhanced, it also obviates the need for disposal.
During the event, centred around repairing and customisation, a Cuoio di Toscana craftsman put himself to the test brushing and polishing footwear made with the Consortium’s creations, both uppers and in particular soles. Thanks to the unique qualities conferred by the use of the mixtures of chestnut, quebracho and mimosa tannins, Cuoio di Toscana is able to enhance the nuances and special qualities of these processes. Virtues of the artisanal way of working that are even more accentuated by the slow tanning process in the tank, which makes the raw material very supple and high-performing. The collaboration between Cuoio di Toscana and Dyloan also allowed for the unveiling of the latest developments in the Bespoke Tech field, with some brand new technological customisations done on the details of the shoes. A synergy that allows for preserving the value of the craftsmanship, enriching it with creativity and technology.
The live performance also showcased a few sewing processes, both ornamental as well as structural and functional on a leather sole and upper, to highlight the compactness and softness given by the slow vegetable tanning process and the judicious use of the mixture of water and tannins, which is highly sustainable and has a very low environmental impact.
